I'll give you my rank based on what i enjoy doing. diving beaches and nightlife.
diving 1. Aruba 2 Barbados 3 Anguilla
beaches 1. Anguilla 2. Antigua 3. St. Barts
nightlife 1. Barbados (watch yourself the locals are very aggressive) 2. Jamaica 3. Dominican

Living on the East Coast i only rate the Carribean Islands never been to the Pacific Islands

Antigua 4 sure: 365 beachest (1 for each day of the year) water so clear you can see your toes and sand. Hiking, snorkling, Carnival Festivities - last week in july - first week in August... lots to do.

I have to admit though, any of the Caribbean Islands would be an Excellent Choice.

I think the USVirgin Islands are the best especially St. John. No passport needed right now and it's USA owned.

Anguilla has the best beaches, snorkling is great there, (saw a stingray, seaturtle, and lots of pretty fishies), and nightlife rocks if you know where to look for it. Try Sandy Ground around the lake.

In my opinion Iceland. But if you are looking for a paradise Polinesia is the place: Tahiti.
