God is the imaginary friend of many. If you need an imaginary friend, why not have one that is all-powerful?
And one that will bring you to Heaven, and all who disagree with you he will cast into Hell.

Most children don't ACTUALLY believe in their imaginary friends, no matter how much they insist otherwise, I think...At least, I never really did...
Either way, only one child or a connected group of children believe in a single imaginary friend, but countless people believe in God.
I'm not sure if that's going to come across as relevant, but I think it is...
