you can no longer trust their service they have a habit
sending only 1 coach and when it fills up good luck..
there may not be another till the next day, or you will have to stand for 2 to 3 hours
sometimes they *might* send a second section but it
may not be from Greyhound..
once time I was at the Portland Or greyhound station
going to Seattle -the regular run came though full of course
the dispatcher said they would send another bus
mind you this was at 10:00pm
now at 12:00midnight the station closed and you forced to wait outside
in the freezing weather finally at about 1:00am a bus
comes though from a charter company boards
the passenger
the problem the driver DIDNT SPEAK ENGLISH
and didn't not know where the greyhound stations were
that was my last and finally trip on the dog
as thats HOW THEY TREAT YOU AS A DOG

I used to ride on Trailways, which was the same as Greyhound until Greyhound bought them out. The difference: Trailways stopped in every little hick town, and Greyhound didn't.
Both are still the same. For long trips, you drive all the time and there is only one tiny bathroom for everyone, males and females alike. If it gets full, the driver will lock the door and not let anyone use it.
On long trips, you will have "layovers" in the middle of the night, and if the place serves food, you are at their mercy for what they serve and at their price. At least at an airport, you have several places to buy overpriced food. At a bus stop, if they have food, you have only two choices: Buy it or don't.
Yes, ofcourse, there are wierdos everywhere, but cheap transportation seems to attract them, plus all the ones that seem to live at every bus station.
If I were you, I would look to see if you can get a discount air ticket to that city, or look at renting a "rent-a-wreck" car from a discount place.

yeah and it sucks, there are always weirdos, and it always takes you like 3 times as long as it normally would if you would have drove. if you can take a train, at least it travels quicker in between stops than the *& bus does! the only time the bus is a viable option is when you're down to your last few hundred bucks and you can actually use the extra money to grab a bite to eat or watch tv while you're waiting for the next bus on the layover.
pittsburg, pa has a nice stop; if you're stuck in columbus, oh they have one of the bigger terminals you'll see but beware of the bums in the jon if they aren't using smack they're begging for money or doing some other god awful ... akron, oh has one of those smaller stops where only 2 or 3 buses go into, literally, you'll miss it altogether; it's on the east side of town, which can be rough, though it's in more of a business area. west virginia has some interesting stops; many are nothing more than the bus stopping next to unmarked areas, like a mcdonalds, others, like the one in charleston are visible. figure that the bus stop in charleston, where the population is a fifth the size of akron, oh, is like 3 or 4 times the size larger. some other palces that should have a visable bus station, because they're progressive, like harrisonburg, va, do not at all. last time i went into there i had to pick up the bus in staunton ...
if you're on the coast do yourself a favor and just pay for the train; it costs 3 times more but it's worth the money. took the train from NJ to NYC, best $11 I've ever spent. it would have took the bus like 4 hours to do that i got there in like 1 and 1/2

I once took a bus from Los Angeles to Florida. Big mistake. It was a long time ago, so I don't know if they have improved, but at that time the seats were uncomfortable and the trip took forever.
Another time I took a train from Florida to Washington, DC and it was much more comfortable and pleasant.

Yes from Roanoke to Washington DC. 40 bucks one way. It was comfortable considering it was a bus. Not to many weirdos. It was a good deal when ya think about how much gas is and not having to worry about getting lost. I would do it again.

You get what you pay for or can afford unfortunately airplanes are expensive and the trains in the US are somewhat limited. Buses are a good option.

Don't waste your money. Greyhound is for the birds, bums, slunts, slores, slits, and scabs.
