A cat is never too old to be neutered. You probably should have done it sooner, not because of the idea of keeping down the cat population, but basically because it is a health hazard to your cat if you don't fix him. It can cause kidney problems if they aren't fixed. I lost a cat due to the fact I waited to fix my cat. Get him neutered, but still keep him inside. Not good to let cats out, they can get so many diseases and they run away and you just don't know what can happen to them. Better he cry and stay alive, well that's my thought.

Yes, I think he should be neutered...especially if he goes outside. If he's not neutered, then the chances of him impregnating a female cat (feral or otherwise) are almost 100%. He's not too old to be neutered by any means. Talk to your vet for more information.

He is howling because he wants to go outside and find female cats. Get him neutered! There are so many unwanted animals out there..especially lots of cats that are neglected or abandoned. An animal is never really too old to be spayed or neutered unless they are too old to handle being put under for a surgery..even then you should talk to your vet...

doesnt matter how old is youre cat is to have him neutered ? plus 2 year old isnt that old yet still young . how you know the cat wants to be out side can be something else like maybe he is crying for beiging hungery want something to eat or he want you to hold him and play with him with toys, or he feel so alonely that he doesnt have any cats to play . or he not feeling well . if he doesnt look well then i willl call youre veterinary and set a appointment for check up cause every cats does need to be check up to see if theyre healthy and not sick .

they can be neutered at 6 months of age. I would get him neutered because chances are he is spraying cat urine all over your house marking his territory. Females mark also to attract the male to her.

He should've been neutered before he was 6 monthes old to reduce the chance of spraying. He's not too old, they never are too old.
