what a bunch of fairly inaccurate answers...please go to the web site mention ed in one of the answers for the OCD Foundation...and to the guy with OCD who doesn't get mad? did you just get mad at the 1st guys answer? I do agree, i don't get mad about ice cubes but things can throw my mind into a frenzy if things around me are not clean or organized. but I don't get mad about that. OCD is more common than most people realize and there can be many varying degrees from someone who washes their hands a lot to people who can not got to sleep at night because they have to see if a faucet is turned off over and over. check out the web site, it is very informative but from what you say your friend may have some other mental disorder. With OCD you can in fact have suicidal thoughts because many times major depression accompanies OCD. Have your friend seek professional help

Are you sure he has OCD?? It often comes with a person who
washes his hands alot. Or other like behaviors.
He may have A Personality Disorder, or a Psychosis?
In a Psychosis the person is seriously disorganized & contact
with reality is usually impared. Is he Schizophrenic? He may
have Multiple Personality Disorder - you noted that he seems
like 2 different people? This is typical of this disorder. Fear is a
big factor here. Bipolar? Boarderline Personality Disorder?
These are just a few I can think of. If this helps.....

Also, how old is this person? a teen? an adult?
A good psychiatric work-up is in order here to correctly diagnose
this problem. This would include bloodwork, & a session with
a good Psychiatrist. And then follow up with a good Therapist
as well.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) would cause him to do any of these things. OCD is where you have to have everything perfect or you get mad. For example. Say you only like 3 ice cubes in your drink. And if someone puts 5 in you get pissed off and have to correct it or you get upset. You follow there are other ways you can have it but thats what it is. He could jsut be feeling lost or trying to get you to feel bad. He may be depressed. I advise he goes talk to his school guidense councler for help or have a long conferstaion with him of why he wan't to and what will change and remind him all the good stuff he had in his life.
Hope I hellped:-D

what a stupid response by that first guy, but anyway. Oh, and by the way, yes I might have to have 4 ice cubes, and you could **** it up, but I don't get "MAD," as you say. I just start to freak out. Things are not okay and I can lead myself into a panic attack. I may have to perform a series of rituals to bring the okayness back to my mind. I'm not explaining it right now, but you are close-minded and just don't get it.

Okay, now to answer the question. I know all kinds of stuff about ocd.

What ocd symptoms etc whatever does your bf/ have? OCD has NOTHING to do with leading a sufferer to lie and think about killing himself - that makes absolutely no ********* sense. You need to get a bit more educated or get your disorders straight or something!

OCD ppl are not 2 ppl and generally are not afraid of themselves.

Why waste your time keeping a fuctt up person around that you feel like you don't know the truth about?

you need to invest in yourself, not be in a committed relationship, and stop wasting your time

This is NOT OCD!! I suffer from OCD and none of what you describe is it. Persistent lying is usually a symptom of several personality disorders. Intrusive thoughts of killing oneself is usually a symptom of depression. Rapidly changing mood is Borderline Personality Disorder.

You need to get your ex-bf to seek a professional evaluation immediately.
