I own a stock '05 SRT-4 and have wondered the same thing. However, if you are talking about maintaining a street legal car that will pass an emission test in the US, I would hesitate to recommend removing the cat. In factory high-performance cars, the catalytic converter is not the plug it used to be. There are many kits out there that can turn your SRT-4 into a true 300hp monster - without removing the converter. And- I must mention this- clean air is a good thing. You will have to breathe it a lot longer than I will.
