I can only speak for Christians. No christian martyr "just" died for God. That implies that they commit suicide. People die for God when they take a stand for their beliefs and another person kills them. Jim Elliot died trying to befriend the native people who killed him. His widow continued his work. That's a good thing too because the Ecuadorian government was planning to annihilate them for their violence. There are countries today that do not have religious freedom and people die when they stand up for their right. In that case, it is not wrong. It is doing no less than what Jesus did for us.

Anyway...
Dying for God isn't right or wrong. If you die, you die, if you don't, you don't.
Everyone dies for God, unless you think that God is some separate entity from yourself.
I was born, I will die. Same with you. It's all for God.
