32 pounds is very heavy for a cat, I would check to see what breed he is, some breeds are larger, (example Maine Coons) and would weigh more, but most cats should not weigh more than 20 pounds (and even that is considered overweight in most breeds)
Diet and exercise are the only way to reduce your kitty's weight.
Try limiting your kitty's food, have scheduled feeding times, where you only give him a small amount of food, at several points during the day, like when you get up, or when you get home from work. (be prepared for a whiny upset kitty though)
Change your kitty's food to a diet food, or a light, just like in humans, lower calorie intake, will mean less excess fat stored.
Play with your kitty, encourage him to run around, laser pointers are great for this. it is harder in a smaller place, (the problem I had with my own overweight kitty) but exercise is just as important to cats as humans.
Make sure your kitty has plenty of fresh water, the more he drinks the less likely he will be to eat.
Even with these tips it will take awhile for Mr. Kitty to lose a noticeable amount of weight. My kitty had been overweight, he weighed 19 pounds last May and is down to14.8 this month.

No - Mr. Kitty is not fat - he is OBESE and that is not cute. It is life-threatening to a cat and if you love Mr. Kitty, take him to a vet so you can have a programme for weight loss for your cat.
1. Lower your cat's daily caloric intake by changing the cat food product (there are several diets formulated for weight loss) or the amount fed daily.
2. Increasing fiber or water intake may sometimes be necessary to satiate your cat.
3. Increase exercise activity. To enhance exercise, a variety of leashes and toys are available.
4. NEVER withold food for more than 24 hours to an obese cat as this cold lead to Lipidosis ( a deadly liver disease). Hence, crash diets cannot be appied to cats ever. Weight loss has to be gradual.
Most cats require an 8-12 month weight loss plan to reach their ideal weight. Most cats do achieve ideal or near ideal body weight when the owner and family members are committed to improving the pet's health. Most owners continue feeding the weight loss diet, only at a higher food dose, to maintain their pet's ideal weight.
If you ignore your cat's weight problem, he could develop diabetes, heart problems, breathing probems and he will not live as long as he could have were he lighter in weight.
See to it, freind... no kidding.

He is too fat. He needs to be on a diet. Adult cats only need 1 cup of cat food a day. 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup at night. If the sushi cat food is what is making him fat, then quit feeding him that kind of food. And buy a different kind. Take him to the vet and get a check up. Ask the vet what kind of cat food would help him lose weight.

Mr. Kitty needs to be on a diet. Take him to the vet. If you don't put him on a diet soon, Mr. Kitty will live a short and painful life.

i would say that yes he is fat. but there are some ways to help him to loose weight. limit him on cat food, maybe change his cat food to a different kind, or maybe just put a bowl of cat food out and if he eats it all at once then yes he is eating more then he should. my cat only weighs in at 14 or 16 pounds. most people say that my cat is fat. has your cat been fixed? because that's why my cat weighs more than some cats. he has been fixed. i hope i could help.

32 pounds is absurd for a cat's weight! He will even have problem washing himself! Please help Mr Kitty to lose weight. Continuing to let him pile on is akin to animal abuse!
I know when a hungry kitty looks at you so forlornly, pleading for food, it is almost "cruel" to refuse... but you have got to be firm if you love him. A healthy cat is a happy cat.

Mr. Kitty is heading for a heart attack if he isn't careful. You better get him to a vet and get him on a diet. He is at a very unsafe weight right now.
