Good question, took the words out of my mouth. I think it happens to a lot of guys, I can't remember any physical affection as a kid, and when you get older the girls expect you to perform, and if you don't feel like cuddling after; your a cold fish. Though it could be my choices, most of the girls were spoiled and selfish; but it gets to me now thinking back that nobody ever really cared. Oh well, maybe in the next life. To answer your question, yes I think it's normal, in this society.

What is normal? Love is an emotion that needs to be learned. A baby and small child learn almost everything from the people around them. Most children are open to learning about everything. Their minds are like sponges soaking up as much as they can. If people around them dont show or express loving feelings it is extremely difficult for them to feel the emotions. Sometimes there is an imbalance in body chemicals or some other miscommunication in the mind that causes emotions to not register or be felt as in some forms of autism. Sometimes the emotions are felt so strongly that a person needs to shut them out or they become totally overwhelmed. The mind is still being explored so there is not definitive answer to your question.
I can only suggest that you do further investigation into research of the mind and emotions. Good luck. I hope you discover what you are looking for.

I don't know that I would use the word normal, but it happens. A person who is a loner and who has been hurt by a loved one in the past has a difficult time giving up that control.

You don't want to take a chance on being hurt again so you don't give yourself to anyone. You can be in deep like but you won't let go of your emotions so the relationship can evolve into love.

You may not even be aware that you have been hurt in the past. It may be something as common as your grandmother dying when you were a young child.

What do you mean that you have never felt love, is there nothing or no one that you would do anything for or care about so much that you always think of them in anything that you do? There is a difference between loving and being inlove. Im sure you mean that you have never been inlove, and that is okay, don't worry it will come in time and remember that not everyone was meant to fall inlove. Nevertheless don't look for it it will find you.

For someone...They can receive love and have the idea of love but can never feel that " MAGIC" feeling you feel when you know you can give that love back in return.

I am that way. I have no clue but its a very lonely life. I can tell you that.

Love is not a feeling, it is a choice. Feelings are feelings that are commonly misinterpreted for 'love.' I wish some people would just figure that simple concept out...
