Well, the first one I'm sure I could probably relate to a few women, but I think I may be more on the obsessive side. I'm constantly sucking in my tummy....like always...even when I'm alone...even when I'm about to fall asleep, and I purposely sleep on my stomach so that it doesn't hang out like when I'm on my side, even right now...the thing is..I'm not overweight. I'm 5'6, and weigh 126 lbs. I guess I just have low self-esteem...but I just wanted to know if any girls out there have that obsession. The second one I've heard is actually a condition called dermatillomania...also known as "compulsive skin picking". It's kind of embarassing, but I find myself doing it whenever I'm alone...and sometimes even in a public place when I feel no one's watching. It's not just on my face either..I have some pimples on my face so that really bothers me.I also find myself just feeling my arms, back, stomach, and face..and if I come across any kind of bump, dry patch,or scab..I just need to pick it.

I used to suck in my tummy all the time, but after learning meditation I found that the compulsion (all but) disappeared.

I used to squeeze pimples compulsively, but managed to stop by will power. I then managed to get myself a Speed addiction and the whole thing started again. I have been clean for almost four years but still compulsively pick at any imperfection.

I have recently started to attack the compulsion again. This time I am using disinfectant and moisturiser instead of picking and am having some success. But I know when I am stressed it flares up.

It is completely normal for humans to have these little obsessions, so long as they don't wreck your experience of life. If they do, it's time to find a solution.

Actually, scab picking is a mental disease. I have it as well. I can't stand scabs or bumps, though I tend to stay away from acne because it only makes it worse. The only reason I pick at acne is if it's ready to pop on it's own and I just help it along by lancing it.

Other than that, you sound pretty like me. I don't like my tummy pooge, but I don't go to the great lengths that you do.

Occasionally I find myself picking at a scab and then I realize what I'm doing and stop but I wouldn't call it compulsive. But no I don't suck in my tummy.

yes i swear ive sucked in my tummy for 10 years straight, and it's always how i look at myself when i'm checking out the clothes i'm wearing. I'm about your size now but i even did it when i was a 100 pound teenager.
by the way, i do a lot of ocd stuff, but i don't think i actually clinically am.

I do both of those things, its very normal. However I must say the skin pricking is a bad habit (even though i use to do it) steam will cleanse it, and as for scabs, they are there for a reason, to protect your body from germs until the skin heals, you have to be patient. But you are normal.

the tummy thing...my best friend has done it as long as I've known her and that's 11 years...the other is actually more common than you think, but i don't want to scare you, it can become very serious... like as in suicide...it will get really bad in some girls and they stop picking with there fingers and use something else that makes them bleed to death....i don't mean to be mean but i would go get help like a group or something cuz it can get really bad if u don't do something to slow it down or stop...good luck and PLEASE take my advise
