Honestly, the only way to get 80's rocker hair is to over process it and damage the heck out of it. I am a product of the 80's and went to beauty school in the early 80's we did that haircut and style all the time. It is amazing what damaged hair can do, you will NEVER get that affect without chemical process like bleach and body wave. You need to apply product and lots of it, like gel or mousse, and then finish it with tons of hairspray. This hair can and will poke your eye out but I love it too. I had it in my late teens early 20's. It's not really teased very much it is palm dried, where you rub the palm of you hand on your head in a circular motion as you blow dry. Once you damage your hair with the bleach you will understand what I mean. Have fun, but be careful, because hair can and will brake! Good luck!

I would suggest a little overprocessing. For example, a body wave and some serious bleaching. Both services were very popular in the 80s. The body wave gives the hair a little bend and the bleaching swells the hairstrand to give it more body. As far as styling goes, find some Dep gel and Aqua Net hairspray. We all used it in '85; it works. Work the gel into your hair after towel drying it. Blow dry your hair with high heat and speed with your head upside down - ruffing it up the entire time. Once you've go the moisture out of your hair, flip your head over. Immediately spray your hair with Aqua Net firm hold hairspray. You shouldn't have to tease it, but you may want to apply more hairspray throughout the day. Honey, trust me, I had impressive '80s hair!

Brush your hair starting from the tips to your roots. This will create an unruly, tangled look. Just like the pics!
Here's a more detailed, step-by-step explanation on how to do it:
1) Take a strand of your hair between your fingers and raise it above your head.
2) Comb down, in the direction of your roots.
3) Repeat for the rest of your hair.
It's basically combing your hair opposite the way you usually do.
Hope that helps!!!

Try taking a comb and running it from the back of your head to the front. It will force your hair to go up instead of stick to your head. Once you get it the way you want it, stick some hair spray in it if you think you need it. Good luck, and I hope that helps :)
