Is there a chicken pox vaccination? Really? I'm 39 and have never had it, and if there's a vaccination, I need to have it before I catch the chicken pox as an adult. Maybe the answer to your question is there is no vaccination.

Because it presents the immune system with a weakened (attenuated) form of the varicella virus. The immune system reacts by producing antibodies to varicella, just as it would in the case of an ordinary chickenpox infection. But since the virus is weakened, the person gains immunity without becoming ill first.
The reason it does sometimes cause the illness is, that sometimes the virus regains full potency.

Vaccines are made from weakened or killed organisms. This gives the body an oportunity to 'get to know' the virus and include this information in its defense system, without the risk of actually getting sick.
A varicella vaccine has been available since 1995. "Pox Parties" were common before that, which is discouraged by doctors.

ill keep it short & sweet,,,,,,,have a niece who ,at age 9 ,came back from the docs office announcing that she "went to the doctors office to get a vaccination for chicken foxes',,,,,,,,,,,akshally,,,,,chicken pox is caused by a virus which, if it is mashed ,bleached, ground up ,diluted a million times,it nudges the immune system to produce immune cells without you getting sick so that if a much larger dose of the bigole virus hits you,it is almost immediately killed off by your several hundred million immune cells.weakened viruses can't reproduce, and reproducing viruses are what hurts you.

All vaccines use germs that are either dead or crippled. Then your immune system gets to "practice" on those so when the real thing comes along, you already have a defense. Once in a great while the crippled bugs aren't as crippled as they should be, and cause the real disease.

Because a vaccine is given with dead virus cells. But your body develops an immunity anyway as if they were live. Occasionally, someone will contract the disease from a vaccine, but that is rare.

because in the vaccine are GOOD bacteria that when it goes in the body it sends the signal out to look for a BAD bacteria and they also send a chemical out so if the chicken pox enters your body your body wouldn't react to it because the min. the chicken pox enters you the GOOD bacteria eats the BAD bacteria
