absolutley not. i've istened to metal almost my whole teenage life and i still listen to it. i listened to it before i even knew what it was. in fact metal saved me from doing something like that. it's the media, ignorant reliogious groups and politicians that make heavy metal look like the bad. you want to know why they blame it so much? because they are afraid of it. the media fears it they want the mainstream society to be afraid of it because that's what the media does, create a story that causes people to become afraid. the religious groups are afraid because the musicians are not afraid to explore subjects that are considered tabooed in their groups. and the politicians are afraid because of the loud aggressive sound that seems to give people (particularly young boys) a feeling of power and are afraid that they can use the power to overthrow them and the special insterest groups that make them corrupt. well, it's true metal is fearful, controversial and powerful, but what about war being something to be afraid and controversial issues such as abortion or gay marriage. and don't lobbyist seem to be more powerful than politics these days? those who say metal is a bad thing, think about the other fearful things out there and there are much more important things to be afraid of. Regardless of whatever accusation comes up relating to metal, metal will always win in the end, and that's another reason why people are afraid of metal.

People can't blame music for the problems that are going on. Just like there are people that blame Heavy Metal there are people who blame Hip Hop music for the things that are going on. Just because music may say certain things doesn't mean that people should do what they hear. They are just stories that are being told. Nothing more and nothing less. If anything it's the parents responsibility to monitor their children.

No I dont believe music of any kind is responsible for school shootings and suicides. These people are mentally ill and need help and so many parents now a days turn a blind eye to what their children are doing and involved in.And I also dont believe heavy metal is devils' music, that is absurd to say the least

Bad parenting and easy access to guns is too blame for high school shootings and suicides.
Watch Michael Moore's 'Bowling for Columbine' for a good insight into this. It provides some more legitimate reasons for high school shootings. It's a film every American should watch.
Heavy metal is just music. It's not evil. It's better than watching half-naked, pop tarts miming to some song about sex that they didn't even write.

I don't think metal is inherently bad. It all depends on the message in the lyrics. There is a such thing as Christian Metal. No single type of music is bad, just some artist are. In the end no matter what the message of the song there is a such thing as personal responsibility. Everyone in the end is responsible for their actions, some music may influence them but they are also the one who chose to listen in the first place.

I think bad parenting is to blame for those incidents- and as far as Satan's music? I don't believe in Satan and I've been in Heavy Metal bands. In fact, I was in one band with a Catholic... our music talked about other subjects than religion...

Any communicate of devil or Hitler in any heavy steel i've got ever listened to has been in ordinary terms for theatrical or marvel value. the two that or the smarter steel songwriters use it as a metaphor. Your sister is in simple terms too gullible for her very own sturdy and could attempt informing herself till now working her mouth.

Shootings and suicide are a result of kids feeling unworthy and unloved. It's not the music, it's the way they are treated at home that makes them feel this way.
The music is merely a scapegoat.
