When I used to go to bars, there were always fighting and after the fights both would drink together. I believe it is just a showing of peace, no hard feelings, ect...

Hehehe,...Alcohol is not allowed BUT it's there. Anyway, everyone has beers together after work don't they? So what's so special about soldiers having one after work?
I think your question should be: "Why are soldiers who've been in combat together form an incredible bond?"
It's simple. When you go to battle together, you don't fight for all that freedom, country and other dramatic BS,... you simply fight to keep you and your buddies alive. You fight so that the guy who hasn't seen his newborn baby can experience parenthood. You fght so that you can give the guy next to you a chance to marry his girlfriend. You fight simply to live another day - together. The people in your company become your family. Ask any soldier who's seen combat (It doesn't have to be an Infantryman) that question and hear the exact same answer I gave you. Being in the military is not a job it's an adventure. It's a place where boys and girls become Men and Women.

Not after doing battle, because enemies do battle. Being in battle together, soldiers deserve a beer for helping their country.

Only soldiers know what it is like to be a soldier, whatever side they're on. They can talk the talk after they have walked the walk.
No one else really cares.

ho says they do. I've been in that situation and a beer after hardly ever happens . Taking a count of your friends is more impotent.
