I am trying to make the Teryaki Chicken sauce from O'Charleys. It is kind of sweet...Anybody had it and know how to make one similar to it? The dish itself is called teriyaki chicken.

Teriyaki sauce is very simple to make although I have never tasted the one you specifically are requesting.
To make your chicken taste like the ones in most restaurants, they use two different types of teriyaki sauce one for marinating and one to brush on the finished chicken. I'm kind of assuming that chicken was grilled.
Most people use the regular teriyaki sauce to marinate. The second type uses the same ingredients but cornstarch is added to it and it is cooked making it thickened. That is what you brush onto the finished grilled chicken.
Basic Teriyaki sauce is just a few ingredients - 1 part shoyu, 1 part sugar, ginger. Difference in taste comes from the different types of shoyu available.
You can add other ingredients as you wish green onion, sesame seeds, some people add pear (good).
