You talking about the Bible god? Who ever told you he loves the human race ?
He hates the human race. The last we heard from him was in the time of the prophet Malachi, when god was considering smacking the earth with a curse.

"When under trial, let no one say: 'I am being tried by God.' For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone." James 1:13.
"Far be it from the true God to act wickedly." Job 34:10.
"God is love." 1 John 4:8.
Death, plague and other bad things are NOT from God. He allows it, but doesn't cause it.
Him allowing it has to do with an issue raised by a spirit person in the garden of Eden:
Does God rule in the best interest of his creation ?
Can humans live successfully independent of their Creator ? (Gen 3:1-5;Rev 12:9)
God being a 'lover of justice' (Ps 37:28), has allowed this issue to be answered.
Answered through time and humans achievements in science, political and religious systems.
The results of humans want for independence has clearly been answered.
Gods time for stepping in is set, and close. (2 Tim 3:1-5;Matthew 24:1-14)

Love does not negate justice. One can be loving and just if they both punish and offer a way out. God though cannot be a hypocrite and not punish sin. The penalty for sin is death but the gift of God is eternal and great!

Howdy there,,
There is no remorse to a rebelious cancer when it is removed form a body. although this is a temporarily sad and painful affair, it must be done for the overall good of the body,
As we have that overall perspective on our own selves in the case of a cancer or diesease, so does God have an overall eternal perspective on the good of all mankind.
God is Good,,, and Just.

God is not amused by anything involving humans and their life on earth. Barely six chapters into the Bible, he was feeling remorse that he had ever created humans.
Jesus tried to cheer everybody up by talking about eternal life, but that isn't likely.
If you want to know the true nature of the god in the Bible (a god who never changes, they say) study the Bible itself.

HI Jed,
God has not created all of the problems that come from satan. You evidentally believe in him because you are following him.

God doesn't like his own creations.
(Isaiah 45:7, KJV) - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
(Amos 3:6) - "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?"

Defective view of God. God is justice, mercy and love. It is not our discretion to conform God to our distorted image. We accept Him as He has revealed Himself in His Word.
