Go to the host and ask for a plunger, and explain that the toilet is clogged. Take care of the problem, clean up the bathroom, and yourself, and apologize to the host. If you can do nothing about the clog, notify the host immediately, so that a plumber can be called out ASAP, or so that the host can assist you. These things happen, it's an accident, just handle it like an adult.

What you did was better that this. I was eating at a friends house when a knock comes on the door, my friend answered and it was a friend of his, saying dude got to use your bathroom, really got to take a dump. The kitchen where we were eating was right next to the bathroom that was bad enough, but a few minutes later he comes out leaves the bathroom door wide open and says the toilet will not flush, it is clogged real bad. Can you imagine the image? Plus he is the kind of person that bathes maybe monthly, which made it worse. He did not even acknowledge that because we were eating that there might be a problem.

Sorry I did not offer advice, just had to get this off my chest.

If it happens again any time, tell the house owner or occupier that the toilet is blocked, not that you have blocked it. Then ask where the plunger is. You'll be thanked for being practical and helpful rather than dumped on for doing it. In fact, you may not be the one who did block it, so don't feel guilty.

The correct thing to do would have been to tell the host of the party thast the toilet was clogged.

Depended on the amount of alcohol I consumed, I might have done what you did.

However you decide to handle it you should at least let the host know. I had this happen once at my apartment and I didn't find out until people had tracked through the bathroom several times. YUK!

...if you are a girl you could grab the geekiest guy at the party, hit on him in order to lure him upstairs. Once you get him out of sight tackle him into the bathroom and slam the door.

You could bite the bullet and fess up or

You could climb out the bathroom window, go home and never, ever see this person again or

You could have went to the host and quietly told them that you went to use the bathroom and whoever was in their before you had stopped up the toilet and you just wanted to let them know.
They might buy it.

Politely and dicreetly, inform the host/hostess and ask if there is a plunger so you can take care of the problem. To leave it and hope no one notices is rude.

Pour Dawn dishwashing liquid in the toilet and let it set for about 30 minutes. Then flush. All should go down.

I would go and tell the host privately what happened. It may be a bit embarrassing but it's the kind and right thing to do.
