Well, you could listen to people telling you to take their favorite (for one reason or another) or you can do some research and watch some races and choose someone that you can be proud to say 'HEY, that's my favorite driver'. That is how I chose my favorite. The driver that I am proud to call my favorite is #24 Jeff Gordon. Why? Well I started watching Nascar a few years ago and I was very impressed with what I saw of Jeff. He is polite and considerate on and off the track and I think he really enjoys racing. A lot of races he gets out of his car after the race and says that he had a blast out there. All of the other drivers have nothing but the up most respect for his accomplishments. There are other people out there that say negative things about him but I truely believe that they are jealous of him. The late Dale Earnhardt SR said all that needs to be said: that Jeff is a TRUE CHAMPION and a gentleman. Can't argue with that bit of logic. 4 TIME CHAMPION and 75 WINS. What's not to like?

There are a lot of worthy drivers out there now that you might like. It depends on what you like in a driver, their story, how they act off the track, their personality, and whatever other factors important to you. Mark Martin, Dale Jr. , Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards, Jeff Burton, Kasey Kahne are all good guys that you could root for. But, you'll just have to watch some races and see who you like.

Here is a case for why you should be a Jimmie Johnson fan. He's the driver of the Lowe's 48 car. He's a talented driver who won the NEXTEL Cup in 2006. His worst finish in the standings since being in the NCS is 5th. He's always a title contender, plus is nickname is the "Nicest Guy in NASCAR." His wife's a model and they just financed the building of the bowling alley at the Victory Junction Gang camp. Johnson is an all around talented driver and a good person.

Go to just one race and you will answer your own question. That's all it took for me to become a fanatic about Nascar. It's not just the race itself, its what goes on in the garages that make the race meaningful. If you get to ever go, try and get pit or garage passes and you'll know what I mean. My favorite driver for the past six years is Matt Kenseth, #17 DeWalt car. They're all good but you'll have a favorite the more you watch Nascar.

Honestly, you should just watch a couple of races and pick out a driver. That's what I did. Well, I picked 2... Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin. Just watch and you'll find that there's a driver you really want to win.

You should go for Jamie McMurray. He is one of the most under-rated drivers on the circuit. Everyone goes for Dale Jr. or Kasey Kahne. (not that I'm against them or anything.) All I am saying is that if you want quality over quanity you will choose a driver like Jamie to cheer for.

Carl Edwards. Because he's my favorite driver, and when he wins he does a back flip on the track. I've heard some women say he's hot but since I'm not gay and neither is Carl that doesn't mean anything to me. I like how he drives and who he drives for.
