It can be a lot of fun when it is working out, but can be distracting for everyone else. Also when you break up which happens all too often, it can be very hard to not have that negatively impact you and the ex. I don't highly recommend it since there are so many other places one can meet a person.

I am currently dating a co-worker and we have no problems. The key is to keep work and your personal life seperate. Don't be "all over each other" at work and I feel that is ok. The policies they have against dating in the work place are there to keep the company safe from liability. And in certain cases it may be wrong. But in my opinion if you are doing no harm then I don't see any issues. But if it is causing lack of efficiency and/or other problems then it is not for you. But I have found that this person in particular is far better for me than anyone else i have met anywhere else.

It really depends on the maturity of the people involved and how closely they have to work together. My husband and I met at work and were a much speculated about office romance, but our positions at the firm we both worked at never interacted. After we started dating, I left the firm to make it easier for our relationship to grow. I had been planning on leaving anyway, but this just gave me an incentive to leave even earlier.

I personally wouldnt do it, because I just think of what happends when the relationship doesnt work out, and the person tells every little thing to your co workers, and the working environment wont quite be the same. Then again some people find their husbands and wifes at the places they work....so I think anything is possible.

LOTS of office politics ... relationships are generally frowned upon.
I worked with a b*tch that enjoyed her role as THE person that could make ALL aspects of office and personal life miserable. Depending on how close your departments are -- one or both of you could be out of a job.

Well, I met my bf of 5 years at work, but I would avoid it if at all possible, it was rough working together. Especially if one is superior to the other. Once during a "fight" my bf had to give me my annual review. It was the most horrendous half hour of my life.

Kind of bad, because it affects your work, and we all know that`s bad. It`s a distraction, like dating in school for really young kids.

I think it might cause one to have alot of distractions. Unless they are not to close by, then it is okay. But if one of the persons are already married, then I don't agree with this.
