Why do i feel so dirty after sex??

I have been with my partner for 8 years and we have 3 children together. Everytime after sex i get a really horrible dirty feeling like ive done something very wrong. Most times i will not let my partner touch me or try to comfort me for up to an hour afterwards. Whats wrong with me??

I've found that most folk who feel this way had it drilled into their head as a child that sex is dirty, forbidden, nasty...and that perhaps this started as early as infancy, where a parent or caretaker would smack a little hand and yell when the child's hand went for the genitals...or as a way of religious conditioning, or a combination of both.

I don't know if this applies to you, or if you remember anything to this degree. I'm also blank on whether this is something that would respond to treatment.

Usually those feelings have to do with your parents' attitudes toward nudity/sex from your childhood or sometimes it happens to women when they have been sexually molested or abused. You might want to get some counseling so you can talk about your feelings to help you see that there isn't anything to be ashamed of.

I don't know. Have you tried seeing a psychirtist because it sounds it's something emotional.
