Motrin to take down any swelling a relieve discomfort. Gargle with warm salt water every hour or so. Drink warm fluids such as tea with honey or hot chocolate. (honey and chocolate coat the throat). If it is difficult to swallow and/or your glands are swollen, and if there are any whitish-yellow pustules on your tonsils, then you may need antibiotics for tonsilitis or strep.

Take 400 MG of ibuprofen every 4 hrs - this should make your throat stop hurting unless you have strep. If your throat does not completely stop hurting within 48 hrs, you should go see a Dr.

drink really cold drinks to soothe it. Stick a dr.pepper in the freeze for a few, but don't let it freeze, just get it really cold then drink up. That helped me a lot! Good Luck, bye.
