My cats have multiple favorites:
The cat dancer ( www.catdancer.com ) Who would have thought that bits of paper on a wire would be hours of entertainment?
The laser light, crinkle balls and the Fat Cat Crinkle toys (http://www.fatcatinc.com/html_site/hhome.shtml). The ladybug and the squirrel are the most popular

Each cat is different - just like humans. Some cats don't like toys at all. Others like all toys. Other are in-between.
My cat doesn't like cat-nip toys. I've heard of others also not liking cat-nip.
My cat loves feathery, stringy, frizzy/fluffy toys. She likes toys we can let her play with alone and toys that require a human's help. My cat also likes toys that hang from something and dangle.
Like I said, each is different.

I have to agree realistic furry mice and lazer lights. I have tried these on thousands of cats at our kennel and recently been trying them on our feral cats that come eat on our patio.
The same reaction with all types of cats- pets or wild they just go crazy for both these toys. I bring home all the left over toys from the kennel (things that cat owners have left behind) and these two toys are my feral cats favorite. And it also is very entertaining for us too.

We got our cats a Kitty Condo. It has 5 levels, 10 holes, and a penthouse. My girls LOVE this thing. They play it it, scale the outside of it, take their naps in it. It hangs on the door or can be attatched to the wall. Seriously great fun.
Another thing we have is a floor to ceiling cat tree. We have it by the window and my girls can watch the birdy show. So, between the 2 tall items, and along w/ numerous small toys, my girls are EXTREMELY happy.

Depends on the cat. One of mine loves anything with catnip. The other loves noisy toys.

My cats favorite toys are those that have feathers on them. They love to grab them and toss them in the air. :)

My cats really enjoy those balls that crinkle. I think it's because they like the sound they make. They roll them around and then pounce on them and they make a fun noise.

i think a ball of yarn because it's cheap cats always seem to injoy it and it's always show as a cats favorite in the movies!!!!

A cardboard box or scrunched up piece of paper - hours of fun for them and it dosnt cost a cent.
