If you truely love each other your relationship will survive. My husband is Army, we made it. He's overseas right now and we find our ways to express our love for each other.
And in that 6 months he should be able to make calls or send emails at some point. So it's your call, if the relationship feels right and you feel he is genuine and trying to make an effort to keep your relationship going then is he worth sticking with?

My boyfriend is also in the Navy. I think you should stick by his side if you really do love him that much. It's not gonna be easy so you two really need to be strong for each other. You should talk to him and see how he feels about leaving and see what plans he has and make sure you guys are on the same page with everything.

We were able to send letters to each other while he was in bootcamp, so maybe they'll let him write to you and you to him.
