If you buy one from a responsible brand name and with a UL tested label, you are nearly absolutely safe.

The microwave leaks are present, but are relatively very low in intensity. They are much weaker than, say, the microwave streams that one cellular base-station tower beams to another in eyesight along a highway.

The microwave photon frequencies, in addition, are relatively slow and hence even if the intensity gets fairly large, the radiations are not as bio-damaging as, say, UV-B, -C, or X-ray.

Therefore, as far as exposing to radiations concerns, using a microwave oven is safer than going to the beach or commuting to work along a freeway.

As long as you don't have a pacemaker and don't crawl inside, you should be safe.

Heating leftovers in a microwave oven uses less energy than gas or electric stoves and saves energy. If you are really concerned, leave the room while the microwave is on. Microwaves cannot penetrate very deep at all, and certainly not through walls.

They are built so the microwaves stay inside, so it would be unlikely. Damage from a cell phone would most likely happen before that and even cell phone microwaves cause a debatable amount of damage

i don't believe so because the microwave oven itself is opaque to the electromagnetic wave of a microwave wave. this means that the microwaves stay inside the oven and don't escape, although it is very unlikely that a high dose of it might escape, don't find yourself with your face right up against it looking in. good luck

I've been using a micro wave for 35 years, and I'm still not sure if they are dangerous-I think , i don't know for sure , what time is it? why am I counting the telephone poles running down my alley?.
