Ok, I have a very picky husband. He hates veggies. He likes corn, beans lettuce corn and carrots, but hates (dislikes garlic but willing to try it in a recipie)the rest. I've always cooked the same things cause i dont know what to cook for him anymore. He likes steaks and chicken alot so i mostly cook those for him.
Does anyone know of some different ways to cook these items BESIDES fried chicken.
He also loves lemon pepper spice.
I just really want to make him a really good meal for when he returns from raq next year(yeah im horrible at cooking so i need practice, been awhile since ive cooked for him). Also anyone know of any good desert s i can make also. from cookies to cakes and also home made baked cheese cakes, ive always wanted to make one. He loves cheese cakes

My advice is instead of using actual garlic in a recipe.... Try using Garlic Powder, but don't over do it. You can do a lemon pepper breaded chicken breast.

Mix the lemon pepper seasoning and some bread crumbs in a ziploc bag.

Beat an egg and then dip the chicken into the egg .
put it into the ziploc bag and shake it until thoroughly coated.
Place in a shallow baking dish and Bake in the oven on 350 for 30 to 45 minuets.

Then Make some Corn on the cob

Basically You shuck the corn and then you boil it in a pot of water for about 35 minuets, or until done.

Make some mashed potatoes

In a large pot of water bring potatoes to a boil and continue to cook on medium high or until potatoes can have a fork easily pierced through them.

Put them in a large mixing bowl and 1/4 cup milk, and 3 Tblsons butter. Beat on medium high with a mixer until smooth. Top with some Cheese

1/2 Tspn Salt
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1/3 Cup Flour
3 Tblspns Butter
1/2 Cup Chopped Walnuts

Method:

In a large bowlcombine Pumpkin,Condensed Milk,Eggs,1/2 Tspn Cinnamon,The Maple,Ginger,Nutmeg, and Salt; Mix well. Pour into Pie Shell and Bake at 425 for 15 minuets.

REDUCE HEAT to 350 and Bake another 30 minuets.

In a medium Bowl combine, Flour,Brown Sugar,1/2 Tspn Cinnamon. Cut the butter in with a fork until it resembles a crumbly mixture consistency. Stir in the nuts. Remove the Pie From the oven and top the Crumb mixture evenly over the pie.

Is there a cooking school in your area? Try to find one. If your husband will be gone for another year, it might be worth looking into. You'll have time to learn to be a great cook. If you work, you can probably find a class that suits your schedule.
You can find thousands of recipes online, or you can get cookbooks featuring all kinds of foods, from soups to desserts to ethnic cooking. But if you feel that you not a good cook, then you probably need to learn some techniques that will improve your cooking skills.

Here are a couple easy recipes that should suit your needs.

Hamburger Tator Tot Casserole:

1 (30 ounce) package of frozen tater tots
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 can of french stlye green beans
1 lb hamburger
1 small onion, chopped (optional)
1/4 cup milk

Pre-heat oven to temperature indicated on tator tot bag.
Dice onion add to hamburger as browining (optional).
Brown and drain hamburger.

In a large glass casserole dish combine hamburger, cream of mushroom soup, 1/4 c of milk and green beans.
Stir until well mixed.

Place frozen tator tots on top of casserole (make sure they are evenly spread).
Bake 40 minutes or until tator tots are golden brown and the rest of the dish is heated through.

No peek chicken or pork chops:

1 TBSP melted butter
1 1/2 cups minute rice
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup of milk
1 pkg onion soup mix

Melt butter, add rice, and mix together

Stir together the two cans of soup with the milk, on low heat in saucepan till smooth.
Add all those ingredients to a 9 X 13 casserole pan
Add meat (either pork chops or boneless skinless chicken breasts). If he'll eat prok chops, you can switch between chops one time, and chicken breast the next..and have 2 new dishes!

Sprinkle the onion soup mix over it all. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake @350 degrees for 2 hours. (Don't peek).

Also, roasts are very easy to do. Buy a beef or pork roast...dot with butter, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook according to pkg directions or roast chart...usually about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, depending on weight at 350 degrees. The same is true for a turkey *breast*.

Any of these can be served with mashed potatoes which you can now buy ready to go in the refrigerator section. I make homemade...but like these also. Just pop them in the microwave.

I make homemeade gravy...but you can get jarred gravy.

Serve any of these with pilsbury or hungry jack biscuits (also very easy..get them in the fridge section).

All those are easy...and good for beginners...and can boost your cooking skill confidence.

Good luck, and I hope your husband gets home safe and sound. I'll pray for you both.

Get yourself some chicken breasts and grill them .

Then get yourself a can of Campbell's cream of asparagus soup, there's a recipe on the can for lemon chicken.

basically you use the can of soup along with half a can of milk, a few squeezes of lemon, some pepper and bake the chicken in the sauce till it's nice and hot.

serve with rice or mashed potato's. it's really good and easy.

pick up the program Master Chef. it is loaded with recipes and the computer will alter them to feed however many you need. It is really simple, you can type in a list of ingredients and it will locate recipes for you. My wife uses it. You can also type your own in and save them as well.
