Medically, what is the effect on the brain and body? At what point is it leathal? Could a sixteen year old girl who had seizures but was other wise healthy have died from combining the two, or were other drugs involved? Thanks.

Seizure meds are sedatives. Mixing alchohol can be very dangerous since it will dramatically increase the sedating effects of the seizure meds.

I have a friend who takes a few meds for seizures- and she can't have a drop of alcohol or else she will 1) start having seizures 2) become comatose 3) stop breathing, likewise, die.
So honestly, don't put it into your system unless you're a moron.

It depends on the anti seizure medicaiton... may be she took anxiolylic also sometimes used as antiseizures.. with alcohol..this is a lethal combination...even a minimum dose together can be lethal sometimes..varies from person to person..

you should never mix the two and yes she could die from this..the anti seizure medication can cause you to become sleepy and the alcohol will enhance this...thus for making you very sleepy to where your brain forgets to tell your lungs to breathe thus for causing death...

Medication with alcohol is a bad idea. IF your daughter was on meds, she should have known what to and what not to do with the meds.
