MY ex-girlfriend broke up with me around 4 months ago, I am 19, she is 18. Issues started coming up and she started to think about them over and over in her head, which led her to get confused about whether she wanted to be with me or not. She was then diagnosed with depression and takes medication for it, she is still on it now. She broke up with me because she couldn't handle a relationship anymore and was just pretty confused.

I'm just not sure if the depression was a major cause of this or not? I have been there for her helping her through this to get her to feel better. We've been getting close lately and we hug a lot and all that but don't kiss on the lips.

Do you think that depression was the major cause of the break up or would it have been the issues??

Thank you :)

Could be the depression. Sometimes when people get depressed, they feel like its too much of a burdon to have someone in their life. They close everyone and everything out.
Its good she sought help for the problem. Usually, depression lasts for only a short time period, and perhaps after she has recooperated from it, the two of you can reevaluate your relationship and see if it can be rekindled.
You are a good friend and ex bf for sticking by her side. Most men would have been too proud to do this after being broken up with. Good for u and i wish u luck.

I went through the a similar situation. I'm 18 and last year I was dating this guy, and a week into the relationship he told me he suffered from depression. I tried to be there for him and help him through whatever he was going through and it got very rough. I think the reason she broke up with you is her depression. My ex couldn't deal with a relationship when he was trying to sort out the things going on in his head. let her know that you're there for her and maybe once she has a better grasp on things then she might come back to you. But you also have to understand that she was recently diagnosed so she is very confused!!!!

Just be there for you the best you can!

Good luck!

well if you piss her off alot then you are the issue. But if she really liked you or likes you then she would stick with you and tell you all her problems. Everybody needs someone there to talk to when in depression stage. But i think she is just using the depression thing as a excuse. good luck.

Just be thankful you broke up before she gets hooked on prescription drugs. She's a loser. Find someone who wants a life!
