Depends on how good you are with computers and what you're using it for. Mac is an extremely simple interface, but it doesnt always allow for easy transfers between computers. It is good for editing videos sound and pictures. Vista is easier to use than XP but slightly harder than Mac, however the difference is really so slight that it doesnt matter. Vista has many more cool handy features than Mac but it does require a little me maitinence, again, not a big deal. Vista also provides for easy transfers to other PCs. If you know ANYTHING about computers, Vista is the better choice, next to impossible to hack, easy to use, easy transfers.

I use both xp and mac osx...
The mac blows xp away...
I just upgraded to a mac-book pro 2 gigs ram... and running xp on parallels runs better then on my Compaq or my shuttle...
Visual studio was running so much smoother and faster.
You really get the best of both worlds with a mac... plus the software that comes with the mac is 1000 times better then what comes with xp or vista. You get a industrial strength audio editing program, video editing, font management, email client, calender client, you can save pdf's easier... i can go on for hours... and with the next release of osX in the spring the new applications that comes with the os look insane.
I also have been reading lots of reviews on vista... It has been getting slammed... poor usability, lots of bugs... etc..
So if you do go with windows I would wait at least 6 months before getting vista. Wait until after a lot of companys have finished upgrading all thier employees from xp to vista...
plus connecting to other machines is extremely easy...
if you want to connect to a windows network... option k and then type in the computer name and log in...
if you want to connect to another mac you just firewire into the other mac...
it is easier then one windows laptop connecting to another

Mac. Vista copied a lot of OS X's features for vista, so it looks similar.. It really isn't though. Internally windows is incredibly bloated. It can't do anything in simple way, it HAS to do everything that everyone else does. It's ridiculous.

Windows Vista is better than a macintosh it`s got way better features than a mac.

Until Vist is at least 6 months old, I would have to vote for Mac OS. Give Microsuck a chance to patch the bugs the didn't bother to address prior to release.

vista hands down. macs are a joke! they lied for years about their technology being "better" than switched to Intel technology anyway! so you get a proprietary PC! what junk!
