I don't know. I love wearing dresses, but even in casual styles I feel over-dressed.

If you notice, both the styles for men and women have gone towards an equilibrium. Women wear pants and can get away without wearing make-up or doing their hair in public. Men feel embarrassed by chest hair, etc. Just look at the metro-sexual thing happening.

Plus, styles have gotten more casual as the years have gone by. How many people do you see at Wal-mart, wearing their pajamas? In the 80's, you wouldn't have been caught dead looking like that, yet, here we are.

I don't wear them as much unless I am going to church or some special function. I honestly can't find dresses that I like. They are either too short, too long, too revealing, have ugly prints in the same colors (grey, brown, and black) and don't fit properly. I did not get overweight either.

I long for the A-line style dresses of the 60s and 70s that at least flattered you and they had wonderful bold and pastel colors as well.

If I could I would wear dresses all of the time but it would not be practical for my life. I can just imagine trying to groom dogs wearing a dress.

Dresses are uncomfortable and stuffy. most women only wear them on special occasions. why wear a dress everday when you can be comfortable.

I think it's because so many women are made to feel un sexy by the "media" that they avoid things that are considered sexy. Scared to be noticed and judged

Same reason most men don't wear suits and ties I s'pose. Too formal and hard to work in.
