how many minutes of video will i get in my camera with a 2.0gb memory card?

It all depends on the brand and make of camera that you have and which video recording format it uses. You should always record in the best resolution available for the best quality... however, doing this does eat up card space.

Some cameras compress their movies at a lower rate, which usually results in better looking video...and others compress their video much higher, resulting in poor, ok or good quality video.

As an example though, Canon do not highly compress their video, and you will only be able to record about 16 minutes of movies on a 2GB card when shooting in the best quality resolution (but the quality is very good to excellent).
With other cameras you might get 30-50 minutes per 2GB (but the trade-off is more video artifacts and not as good quality video).

You should check your user manual, which will let you know exactly how much video you can record on a 1-2GB card...
Or when you insert your empty/formatted card into your camera and switch it to Movie Mode, it should tell you on the LCD screen exactly how many mins/or secs you have available to record on the card.

Depends on the brand and resolution.

If both examples are set to 640 x 480, and they have 512mb:
Canon - You can get about 6 minutes' worth.
Sony - tends to take up a lot of memory for their videos. I've taken 10 second clips on high quality, and the video was almost 20mb.

But it's a 2GB memory card = approx 2000mb. You shouldn't be too concerned because that's A LOT of video time. Well, for me, anyway.

it depends on the resolution u set. if u set it on high quality, the minutes will be reduced. sometimes u dont really need a high resolution if u r takin a short range picture.. its how u set the mode and techniques u use such as angle or how u play with lights

Most videos are 20-50MB and a Gigabyte is 1,000MB . So you're good .
