Check your advanced volume controls. If any of the settings is on 'mute' and/or a very low volume, unmute it and/or set it higher. I believe there may be a special volume control there for CD sound volume, so if that's off but the others are on that might explain it.

Hi... First, if you hear music before in the same DVD Rom maybe is a configuration problem but I think that your problem is more a hardware rather than a software problem. I'm sorry to tell you that your problem is basically a simple cable that goes from your motherboard to your DVD Rom. If you hear music before then check that your configuration for the audio in the control panel are ok. But like I say... if you can listen to music that are copy in the computer but not on the cd that mean that you need to connect that cable. Is a small cable that goes from the DVD Rom to the motherboard. That cable is almost aways gray with small black terminals. Hope this help

do you have a three pluggin out sets . if you re useing the head set or just useing the speakers instead by listening to youre movies or music. then go be hide of youre pc and double check see if you did plug the right unplugs in the right place. cause that can be the problem that you cant heard any sounds coming from where you re want hear from . or you can try to click on the right side of youre window where you see some icons like a pictures of the computer, whatever you got on youre screen window. and if there is a arrow icon next to them just click it and you see a tiny small icon that looks like a spreaker phone. thats will show you how to turn the volumes if you want it aloud or low and you can hear something .

Are youur speakers plugged into the right hole on the sound card, is the transformer for your speakers plugged in, are the speakers on and the volume up? Check in device manager if the sound card is installed with no problems, if there are problems download the right drivers and install thats about it. good luck Frank

Did you check if the cable that comes from the CD or DVD to the sound card or to the motherboard is connected. if you have sound but you do not have sound when you use CD that means the cable is not connected.

you have to adjust the volume on your computer. There is a speaker on the tool bar in the right hand bottom corner. double click on that and adjust the volume.
