I want to take pictures from an event and use them to generate a picture of the guest of honor. From normal viewing distance the generated picture would look like a normal picture but if you zoom in you see that the picture was made from hundreds of smaller pictures.

THANKS!

It is called a mosaic I have recently downloaded a program which compiles a mosaic using the guest of Honor and building bricks of your other images.
It is very time consuming but give it a go.
I'm sorry i can't remember the name of the site I just typed in Mosaic and found lots of free downloads.

It's called a collage, very difficult to do with plan. But if you have the time(a lot of time) go for it. Can't do any harm trying your heart out can it? I wish you all the success.

A collage? Photoshop is probably the best photo program.

I believe they're called collage Mosaics, sometimes Picture Mosaics. There's a website that will generate them for you

www.picturemosaics.com

good luck! i'm sure your efforts will be greatly appreciated.

A more accurate term may be "photomontage".
