I bought this plant from a farmer's market and obviously misheard the man when he told me what it was. I have no idea what type of plant this is. Here are some pictures:

It's called either an "aluminum plant" or "watermelon plant" (the first one is easy to figure when you look at the leaves, but I have no idea about the second name!

its definitely not a rubber tree or dumb-cane (neither has serrated edges to the leaves). It looks like the aluminium plant but I've only seen small ones. Btw, the name 'watermelon plant' is probably due to the colour looking vaguely like the colour of a watermelon (on the outside not the inside)

I could be wrong but it may be an avocado plant that matured into a tree. (of sorts) Looks healthy to me. If it starts to grow little green pear-shaped thingies, it's avocado.
