I've heard God talk to me a few times. It always surprised me.
Once I was very depressed. Life was the worst. Kid was just diagnosed with a life long disability (autism), Dad just died, mom was going downhill, I felt sick and no DR could tell me what was wrong with me. I hated life. I so much wanted to die. Every day was awful, no energy, everyone needed me and I could barely take care of myself. I prayed in the car and asked God to let me die. I knew I shouldn't kill myself but I thought death was my only escape from my pain and suffering.
After I asked this I heard a voice, in my head say loud and clear, "But, I have GREAT plans for you!"
I almost wrecked the car.
This happened like 2 more time in my life. God is very very nice!

I'm a Christian and I'm sorry it annoys you! The lady you know spoke to you out of honest love and care for you. I once believed the same as you, I believed in God, maybe, but not in the whole Jesus-is--the-only-way-to-heaven thing. I thought it was an arrogant thing to say, because God forgives everyone, just as you believe. I have to say that things did change for me, I was invited to a baptism service for a friend and I went to support her, although I didn't believe in Jesus as saviour. Then all these other people starting talking about their relationship with Jesus, as if they really thought they knew him, and for the first time I felt that I was hearing something amazing. I was unaware that God was waking me up inside, but something spiritual definitely started. By the end of the service, I had felt the powerful presence of God for myself and became a Christian. When someone tells you that they know Jesus personally, you should listen, because I now know it's not a lie or a delusion. I did an alpha course after my revelation, why don't you give it a go? It costs nothing, and you can ask any question. You don't have to became a Christian and nobody will laugh at you or judge you.

If someone says this they are deceived by satan's lying tactics or could be mentally delusional. No one has EVER seen God in the Old or New Testament or since then and never will while on this earth age as we know it. Reason being: The Bible teaches that man cannot look at God 's face and live. God is too magnificent for our humanity to see. People have seen Jesus, obviously when He was on the earth and some people claim to have seen Him thru visions. This could be possible, but not God until we get to Heaven in our resurrected, changed bodies. God covered Moses so Moses could not look upon God's face until God passed by him. Read Exodus. This is why God appeared to people via a burning bush, cloud etc.

Hi.
Here is what the Bible says:
(Exodus 33:20) 20 And he added: “You are not able to see my face, because no man may see me and yet live.”
God Almighty is far too powerefull for a human to see Him....
But the fact that we are told to pray to Him.... talk to Him.... form a personal relationship with Him is unique, after all He is the most powerfull being ever, yet we can be friends with Him.

when i went to church mainly years ago people claimed that god did talk with them. I always hoped to hear from god because they said he had a quiet voice, but i never heard anything regardless of how much i prayed. plus the ppl who said they did hear from god and spoke about it were absolutely wrong or when they were right actually heard gossip from someone else. no one has seen god though from what i was told he sent his messengers, his angels to talk to ppl and i have never seen angels. I really don't believe in hearing the voice of god or seeing angels.

God speaks to me on an everyday basis in various ways. Either through His Word, as I'm reading it, the Holy Spirit may bring something to my mind to comfort or correct or help me, depending on the particular situation, or sometimes He speaks through other people. For example, there may be an area of my life that I am struggling with, lets say, financially, and He wants me to start trusting Him with all areas of my life, but I'm reluctant with this. Perhaps the Holy Spirit has been convicting me about it for some time, but I've ignored the conviction. He's also shown me scripture where He's confirmed in my heart that He wants me to start tithing, yet I still refuse. Well, oftentimes, He'll put it on the heart of a Christian friend, or your pastor to mention something about this in passing. That's just one example of how He may choose to "talk" to me through other people.....

Nope. And if I did know someone who thought they were talking to God and he was talking back, I would encourage them to see a doctor.

Do you know anyone personally who has claimed to see and talk with Winston Churchill?
No of course not, because he is not of your generation, but this does not prove he does not exist - does it?
