i think it depends on which virus or bacteria it is. each one has a different incubation period from what i understand.

Depends on the virus or bacteria. Not all multiply/grow at the same rate.

This depends greatly on the organism in question. For example, a cold usually starts causing symptoms about three days after initial infection. However, other diseases may take only hours, or up to months or even years.
