My cat sometimes stares at me and i was wondering if anyone knew if cats can see orbs, ghosts, spirits etc.

Animals are like children in many ways. One of the ways is that they are very open to "the other world" in a way that many adults arent. If you think there may be a spirit in your home, then more than likely, your cat is seeing it. If she is just staring at you and making eye contact w/ you, then she is trying to communicate with you. Talk to her. Carry on a conversation w/ her. She will give you tons of affection for that in return.

After years of living with cats, sometimes I wonder... I think, though, that things just look different to them - they have way more "rod" cells in their eyes than we do, and fewer "cone" cells... which means they can see great in low lighting, but their color differentiation's gonna be on a lower grade than ours. Faint shadows make a big impression on one of my cats - he'll sit watching them move on the wall for 10 or 20 minutes at a time.

Perhaps they can see spirits, although it is just as likely that they're hearing something we cannot (they have exceptionally good hearing) and are trying to visually locate it.
My guess is that this is your cat's way of having a bit of fun at your expense - a sort of, "let's freak the pink human thing out for a joke"...

Is your cat slowly blinking when s/he stares at you? If so, that's the cat's way of showing affection. Slowly blink back, it's a sweet game that shows each of you that you are loved.
My theory is that the cat isn't seeing ghosts, spirits, etc. I guess until we can get our cats to tell us what they see, nobody's opinion is wrong!

throughout history cats have been believed to possess the ability to protect their owners from things supernatural....in some cultures cats are guardians of the spirit realm....many believe cats have a heightened sense of the supernatural even today....as to their eye sight cats have excellent night vision, they also have a excellent sense of smell, and balance and their whiskers are like sensors as well...cats are very intelligent and are well know for their attitude perhaps that is why we love them!

It's doubtful they see spirits or anything like that! They do see the world quite differently than we do. Depth perception...colors...ability to see in low-light conditions. They are also very sensitive to your moods and your feelings. When a cat stares at you, she probably is reading your "aura" or "vibes", probably not in a literal but virtual way.

yes cats really see things we can t.they knew that you seeking.and if you angry, They can see ghosts orbs, its really true,I have cat Chita.She is very clever pet.

I really believe they can see things that are supernatural. People will try to say it is just the cat reacting to your inner thoughts, but that explaination does not work all the time...

I don't know, my cat freaks me out by doing that all the time. Or she will stare at the wall behind me. Its really creepy.

I have a cat;[Angus], that will sit and stare at a blank wall. [ghosts;maybe?] interesting concept.
