I'm just a young girl minding my own business. The new rules of random stop and search...is this necessary?
Does Bush think terrorists are stupid enough to place a bomb in their bag. Most bombs are attached to the body.
Also the subway has thousands of openings that terrorists can get thru with no detection. Does Bush think manning only the busy openings is going to stop a terrorist?

I am sure they had a reason.

The bombings in London and Spain were BOTH perpetrated with the use of bags to leave the explosives behind on trains or in rail stations. Your assertion that "Most bombs are attached to the body" is false.

Please let the police do their job. They are protecting you.

Aren't you glad that our police department is so vigil? Could you just picture a terrorist carrying a plastic explosive onto a subway and leaving it somewhere vital? It would cause major structural damage and definately cause a standstill above!! The way some devices work it wouldn't take much and I am personally glad someone is paying attention even if you think it is too much. Remember, it only took 2 planes to take out 2 skyscrapers!! And they were designed to withstand that. So imagine what would happen to the subway?! Sometime you get a chance, go watch a large building being torn down by using explosives. And then ask yourself the same question as to why you were searched. (And the borders aren't as open as you think!)

Melanie i'm sorry for your intrusion, was that Bush that personally searched your bag? By giving up a simple search of your bag for bombs we can help find real bombs in bags and deter acts of terrorism because that is the world we live in. Don't project the issue of your bag being searched on a subway to an entirely different issue of border crossings, of which you obviously have no idea of what goes on there to secure our borders. Your bag got searched and you didn't have a bomb, thanks again for being a good citizen, next....

Don't you recall the London subway's bombings?

The police response is for that reason, and has been going on since then.

It's not Bush's response but NYC.

It's basically the same as going fishing with a hand grenade-

On top of that the idea is that an increade presence of security will deter the terrorists with the fear that their chances of being stopped have increased by 0.0000000001%.

Not all terrorist suspects strap their bombs to their bodies.. Newslfash, not all bombers are martyrs, some want to leave a package and walk away.
Having resolved this, do you want to do nothing about the problem? Please offer your suggestions to solving the problem, oh, I didn't think so.

Makes no sense does it? The other day Bush was welcoming in Mexicans, like they have been since 1994 with NAFTAR. But its own citizens are all potential criminals!

Ask him not us.
