Have two other dogs also. The father and another male. Shiba Inu and Rat Terrior. Do I need to keep them away and for how long?

You can build a whelping box, but it is easier just to get a plastic kiddy pool (for children) and then surround it with an exercise pen (for dogs, you can get at most pet stores). Then just line it with lots of newspapers and towels.

It is best to keep all other dogs away from her for at least 2 weeks after she has her puppies. She my be defensive because she feels that the other dogs are a threat.

I build a box for my dog to have puppies. I build it out of wood, about 1 1/2 times the length of the mother dog, and square. I build the front so board slide in, I can make it low at the beginning for the mother to get in and out easily because she will walk around during labor and between puppies. Then I can add board to it as the puppies grow to keep them in.
Let the mother decide if she wants the other dogs near by, she probably won't at the beginning. Put the box where you can close the door and keep it private, some mother dogs are more and some are less protective of the puppies. Prepare the box a couple weeks before she is due so she can get used to it. She still may start having puppies somewhere else, but move the first pup into the box and she will go there. Put old towels blankets in the box, and cover it will newspaper during labor so you can change the papers and keep it mostly dry. Have fun, it's a geat experience.

Your momma dog should have a large indoor fenced area, you can buy these steel inclosures at a pet store, and you definately want to keep both male dogs away, introduce them after a week, but don't let them stay in the enclosure because they don't have the same momma instincts as your female. Make sure this enclosure is comfortable and has a nice fluffy bed big enough for the mom and her pups. GOOD LUCK!

The pool idea works really well if you don't want to make one your self, and I usually use substrate from a pet store, like shaved pine or something, it absorbs really good and then clumps together for easy clean up. I always keep the males away for atleast 2 weeks, unsupervised anyway. Also, some males will kill the puppies so make sure you are close by just incase one flips out.
