I just started dating a wonderful man who has been treating me with the utmost care! Unfortunately, my mother refuses to even listen to me when i tell her about him. It makes me really sad and angry. He is older than me, i'm 33 he is 47, he is white and I am black. She swears this is not an issue. When I confront her she about it she blows up at me. Any advice on how to deal with this?

do your close friends like him? has your mother met him? if your close frineds aresaying hes great then listen to them. about your mother, just dont talk about him around her, but lil by lil bring him up in a conversation, it might show to your mother how much this guy means to you.

Your mother sees the obvious problems and is trying to protect you. You are not a child so who you date is really not her business so you do not have to listen to her but you should take her concerns into consideration. She has your best intrests at heart and she might see something that you do not.
