I'm talking abut Police check points! I think it's to bring in more revenue. But on the local news, they say the police are making sure people are wearing their seat belts. I wish i was dumb enough to believe that.

A lot of people actually believe the police or Gov. care about your safety. As you stated, it's to bring in more revenue AND to keep as many uninsured people as possible out of county (taxpayer funded) hospitals.

i own a shop,an you never know they actually might be doing some of it to save lives,and I'm sure a lot of it is about revenue,but what i cant understand is why people don't like to wear them and they get really upset if they get caught for not having them on,its no big deal to just buckle up,i think a belt saved my life once,i cant say that for sure it did or didn't,but anyway I'm here today,so i wear mine.its really not a bid deal it don't make you look bad or anything,its just may save your life someday that's all,so wear it,maybe it will help you someday also.good luck i hope this help,s.

Yeah, the police have road blocks in our town, usually around drinking events like New Year's Day, 4th of July, Super Bowl.... afterward in the paper I read about all the DUI's and other arrests handed out. It is about the money, but it does make the roads safer as well. I always wear my seatbelt, it's stupid not to.

Well here in texas, we have A BIG illegal problem, so there here to stop them, to see about registration and inspection, to see about some drunkies.... it can be any reason.
I'd rather that person be stopped and arrested then them plowing into me on the road because they were drunk.

ware your seat belt, have a legal inspection and registrations sticker and legal and current insurance, then you will not have to worry...But ya, it is set up , because town is hurting for cash. Other wise, their not around any ware.

seat belts save lives, it's been proven.. unlike airbags that killed more than helped and to me serve no purpose since that's what seat belts are for.
