Russian letters might seem hard in the beginning. Cyrillic alphabet was developed from Greek same as Latin. Therefore there are a lot of letters that are the same in English and in Russian. Then there are letters that look like English but indicate a different sound. And the third group of letters are uniquely Cyrillic.
Make cards and devide them into groups as described above. It will make it easier for you to memorize them.
I have watched my colleagues to learn them in a little more than half an hour. But it did take them some time to memorize them and read. Language teachers in general spend like a day to train students to memorize Cyrillic letters.

They are pretty easy to learn. A few are the same, anyway.

The best way it to make a chart with the letters (caps and minor case) and the pronunciation and hang it somewhere where you'll see it a lot, like in the bathroom opposite the loo. That way, you learn them almost automatically.

They are only hard because some look the same and sound different, but it's nothing compared to Arabic or Chinese. If you get the basics down, and then use it a lot then you'll get better really fast.
