Gift certificate for a restaurant (obviously, pick a national chain that you know is in the town she's moving to!). If she's moving to a new place and is busy setting up housekeeping, getting to know the area, looking for a job, etc., she may be too busy to cook healthy meals for herself right away. It might be nice if she could go out for an hour and have a pleasant meal in a restaurant.

When a friend of mine moved out of state, I got her a nice framed picture of a local landmark, so she'd be reminded of this city and our friendship when she looks at it.

What about an address book, with your name number and info written, so that if she needs help she can always call you. That would lean towards romantic, but if you want a neutral gift, try something like cleaning supplies in a "gift bucket" for her new place, notebooks and pen sets to take notes or whatever....things like that.

A gift certificate or card to a home builders chain, a chain store, or even a chain restaurant, she might enjoy a night out eating after all day of unpacking and moving.

A bottle of wine ( if they drink) is always a nice going away gift.
