I think dread locks look pretty dope, and my hair has been growing out so i was wondering how does one get them? like do you get it done at a hair place? or what? and like what kinda maintenance/keep up does one have to keep with them. thanks

There is an excellent book by Lonnice Brittenem Bonner called "Dreads." It takes you step by step, actually and psychologically, too. My locked sister will tell you that they are called "locks" not "dread" locks. LOL

You should go to a "locktician" to get them started. You could roll them yourself but you could end up having puffy twists not locks that have to be restarted.

try washing your hair with regular body soap, this will dry your hair out & then continue rubbing your hand on your hair to get the "dread" affect it might help rubbing peices of hair between both hands also. hope this works for you

Emm..You can get them at a salon. But, when they get too messy or whatever, you have to shave your head. And, that's only like a month afterwards.
