even though he has been neutered he still has this habit. He is nearly nine years old & we want to introduce a puppy ***** into the house. Will this make him worse?

Buy a bottle of Lambert Kay's Boundary. It stopped our dog from marking the Christmas presents last year so now we spray all his favorite marking spots about once a week and we don't have a problem anymore. And yes, introducing another dog will probably increase his desire to mark.

I really don't think you can stop him totally - it's something the dog family does as matter of nature. As far as introducing a puppy into the household, no, it won't make him worse.

did you wait to long to have hm neutered.? did you remove all old smells.? The male doggie wrap from jefferspets.com will save you from wiping it up all the time but I would only use it when he is unsupervised. Do you have females in the house in heat? jefferspet.com also has an anti mating spray.

I assume you mean he's doing it INDOORS??

If it was me I'd put something in the places he tends to do it which dogs don't like - they're sense of smell is so powerful, things like pepper, patchoulli oil etc...they hate that.

as they say its hard to teach an old dog new tricks!! they have male wraps at petsmart and petco that you put around your male so he won't pee on anything except his self!
