I think that when Vista is the most expensive operating system on the planet people have a right to have very high expectations. In a large number of ways, Vista is falling short of those expectations from end users.
Having just built a new workstation with an NVidia 8800 video card just because it is the only DirectX 10 compliant card I am now somewhat disillusioned to be using beta drivers in an effort to make it all work.
From what I can gather, nowhere near enough work was done with other software developers and hardware manufacturers to implement Vista's new models for security and function to allow for a smooth transition between XP and Vista. In my opinion this is unfinished software that was rushed to market at a premium price.
The organization I work for handed Microsoft almost $50K last year and at that money I am not even remotely interested in being a Micro$oft guinea pig.

I particularly do no longer understand. i'm operating Vista living house Pre. and characteristic been doing so for the previous 19 months. I particularly have had no issues in any respect. No freeze up, no blue reflects, only quick and gentle. It set up and controls my living house community without a lot as a glitch. it truly is quick, and extremely preserve. All of my application runs properly and far swifter then it does on my XP gadget. and really some the hot efficient factors that come alongside with Vista are large. sure, it makes use of more suitable ram then XP, yet so what. I particularly have continuously put in quite some ram contained in the platforms that I construct for my shoppers. So why each and each of the negativity, perhaps it only comes from a lack of understand-how or journey the position operating platforms are worried. And after all, it truly is in reality an OS, a platform upon which all different application runs. And this one does the activity more suitable positive then something that has come alongside so some distance.

Their problem with Vista seems to be that they have endless problems with Vista. You seem to be one of the lucky ones. And where are the training courses? Makes it all kinda expensive, no? Cheaper in the long run to get a Mac, for which nobody needs a training-course. And you don't risk busting a vein in your brain from high blood pressure stress!

It's expensive, more hardware intensive than XP, it has restrictive DRM, it has few improvements from XP, it's improved security comes at the cost of considerable inconvenience to the user, it is incompatible with a lot of existing software, there is poor support for existing hardware, it places restrictions and extra costs on hardware and software manufacturers and most of the new features which were promised have been removed. It does look pretty though.

people are afraid of change, they like a tried and true OS,
Vista has not been out long enough to change people's minds and Vista has a lot of features I do not like. Only good thing about Vista is DX10
