i'm only 14, but here's my opinion. i think the reason why we always trip over our ex's is because we were with them for so long and we've come to know and love them, that we don't know if we can ever let that go. thats how i fell about my ex. so, your not alone in this one, hun.

Just start thinking of all the reason's why the person is now your ex and that might help place things in perspective. Put things into proper context, either one of you or both, obviously didn't feel the two of you were good enough for some reason to continue the relationship. So with that in mind, why would you let a discontinued relationship screw up a potential relationship. Maybe the problem is, the new relationship isn't good enough for you. You need to find someone you like so much, that you don't even think of the person you use to be with. Find someone that blows all the past out of the water. Quit bettering the past and better the present. Now is all we have my friend.

I think after a relationship ends, you need to give some time for your self...make close friendships with members of your same sex...learn to love yourself, and have fun with the girls or guys. Then when you go to start a new relationship you aren't dependent on someone to be there. You dont need that person, you are truely with them because you can't stand to be apart from them for a minute.

The reason your ex is on your mind is because you never let yourself heal. There probably is no closure on the breaking up between you, you can always start something new, but if your starting something just to do it...well its only a temporary fix, you maybe happy for a couple months but eventually your gonna realize you never got over your previous relationship

Everyone feels this way during life. You should never start a new relationship until you are totally over your ex. It will cause so many problems. Plus your new boyf or girlf will be a rebound and they could be falling for you while your dreaming about your ex. Too many people get hurt. And i know it's easier to say than do because sometimes it seems like your never gonna get over them, but it just takes time. Good luck

Sounds like rebounding to me. If you had a relationship fail, then maybe you should be learning why so it doesn't happen again. Getting into a relationship right away will only cause more confusion and you might be hurting someone new in the process. Time is on your side.

That's a sign that you should have taken a break before jumping into a new relationship. There are always going to be things that you loved about your past relationship. But remember, your past relationship is in the past for a reason.

it is normal. completely normal. u love the other guy, right? and u want to love the new guy but just cant grasp the idea of loving him? its hard, yes, a difficult situation. if ur new relationship has problems, u shouldn't continue it just to convince yourself that ur happy. is the one u still love single? in a relationship? married? just remember- everything happens for a reason, so there must be a reason why you still love him. Best of luck to you!
