Don't google it either, I want to know from people who have actually tried it.

I have always found the "Don't google it, I want a subjective opinion from a handful of people that may or may not know what they are talking about" question interesting.

Absinthe gets you drunk, and if it's a good brand (and you enjoy the light to heavy 'black licorice' taste) it tastes great while doing it. Some experience a 'clear headed drunk' others don't.
Contrary to popular myth it wont cause you to hallucinate or get high and any brand propagating that myth should be avoided as they only want to take your money.
Yes I have drankened many a absinthe, but no where near what the owner of that quality swedish site has.

Absinthe has been banned in most countries in Europe and the US since the early 20th century. Strindberg, Munch, Picasso, Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Verlaine and Hemingway are all dead. Otherwise they could have told you.

Googled or not.
Here´s an excellent Swedish site about Absinthe written in English: http://www.absinthe.se/welcome.asp

I have only drank a few shots of it on several occasions. It is just another type of alcohol. It tastes ALOT like licorice (like even more than jagr) and it will get you wasted quickly (the one that I drank was 120 proof). I did not trip though, or see any tracers or have any hallucinations. Some of my friends drank a whole bottle while in Amsterdam and they said they had a great time, but you feel more drunk than you feel like you are tripping.
