Because we get asked "are you cheating on me with your X" so often that we might as well EARN the recriminations.

Guys aren't the only one's who cheat. People are human and humans feel attraction towards one another. And some people act upon those feelings more. Monogamy is not truly natural. There are plenty of women out there who cheat. It's just not deemed as acceptable still in this day and age and that's why you don't hear about it as much. To be faithful in a committed relationship requires discipline. Most guys, especially young ones are simply not ready to be with one person forever or what they see as forever. Also, they are not looked upon negatively if they choose to cheat as much as a woman/girl is. But times are changing..

two reasons:
1. To "get even" with your partner for something they did, or to find passion that may not exist in the current situation.
2. We are genetically geared to try and inseminate as many willing females as possible.
I think 1 is the big reason in most relationships today. Once women get married, they think having sex for fun is no longer necessary, and they expect men to feel the same way. Pretty much all relationship books geared towards married women today advise them to have sex with their husbands 1-2 times a week, which is shocking to most married women who average once per month and expect their husbands to accept it.
For 2, imho, men need to get it out of their systems when they are young, otherwise this will cause all kinds of problems later.

I would like to ask the same question to you...but since you can't respond...
some guys cheat for the same reason women do. They want something they cannot have, but try to attain it anyway.Which is have a relationship with two people. Have the sweetheart to shwo the parents and a whore in bed. In the end, no one is happy.
It's a thrill to cheat. I won't do it because I am in love with my girlfriend.

I really don't think it is fair to say that this behavior is perpetrated by one gender more than the other. But, I believe the reasons for both are the same, and there are many, and they are usually fairly complicated. Many times people cheat out of a lack of self-esteem. A lack of respect for another usually stems from a lack of respect for oneself.
It happens and it is unpleasant, but it is anything but simple.

when you say guys you are being gender unspecific right ? we all know that if us men were the cheaters that we wouldnt be able to do all our other man things , like drinking and cussing , because if you didnt cheat first we'd never , and i mean ever , hear the end of it .
