The yellow ! was letting you know something was wrong with that item. It could be corrupted drivers(the program that makes your card work) up to a faulty card, but i highly doubt it. If you know the maker of your sound card and the exact model, you can go to the company's web site and download the correct drivers for it and that should fix your problem.

First, calm down. This is a simple problem.. First thing bring up device manager as you did yesterday, and if you have a check mark, see exactly what its for. In most cases its telling you that you need an updated driver for the sound function. The interfface
should give you the choice of upgradind the driver or repairing the connection.. Systems dont generally delete files on their own, but
if you are missing a file or 2 you will use a very similar operation called system recover whicn can unwanted result.

I've had this problem a couple of times now! You need 2 put in recovery disk 1, click install, click windows XP ( assuming your running XP) click driver, click audio then lastly click install now! This should fix it. The first time it happened to me I rang the computer company and asked them what is going on with my sound, I was told what to do and that it sometimes happenes for no apparent reason so dont blame yourself! Hope this helps!

Firstly, I take it your using XP?
Go into 'Control Panel ( where you found the yellow ? )
Then 'System' followed by 'Device Manager'.
Scroll down untill you see sounds and audio devices, ( you may need to click the + next to it ) if you right click on the device, it should give you the option of updating drivers, if not, scroll to properties and then 'reinstall drivers'.
When prompted allow to connect to internet.
Another option is to go to the manufacturers website, I take it it's onboard sound? You may also need chipset drivers but I wont go into that yet unless the above fails.
Goodluck.

First, try rebooting your computer. IF you just deleted the sound card driver, the computer should try to re-install it. That's the first thing I'd try.
If that doesn't work, try 'system restore' (XP) to yesterday or before the problem happened. It won't go back too far but you can try yesterday or the day before.

Without being too complicated, try a System Restore! this will have your driver back in no time! If this doesnt work then get back to me.

think you have deleted your sound drivers, if you have your original install discs you will be able to re install.
if not you will need to download, once you know which sound driver you need
