My friend has been going out with his girl for two years. But a few weeks ago they broke up....and during that time, she went out and had sex with someone else. He said that she was really heartbroken and that why she did it. Also that it was a good thing that while she was with someone else she was still thinking about it. What should he had done? broke up or still keep this relationship knowing that there was someone else........?

This question assumes several things:

1. When the relationship was started, it was assumed to be long-term.

2. When the relationship was ended, the decision was well-thought out, rational, and logical rather than emotionally driven.

Imho, if there is any doubt, after the relationship is formally ended, that it was the right decision, then either 1 or 2 was not fulfilled.

So, my advice: starting or ending a relationship is serious business. if you don't take time to make good decisions at these times, you are going to end up with a lifetime of doubts and divorces.

I had that happen to me, and while we did end up getting back together (or calling it that), I never truly got over the fact that she had given herself to someone else so easily during our break. There were also many other things that contributed to the breakup anyway, we really should have just stayed apart anyway.

It probably depends on a lot of things. if the relationship was meant to go on anyway, then maybe so, but why did they break up? and why did she feel the urge to go run and sleep around so soon after?

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior as DrPhil says. She couldn't have been that heart broken or she wouldn't even be around other guys that quickly. I don't know how you could get over that without help. Its OK to forgive but you need to find out why it was so easy for here to do this first.

No, I would not. if she is sleeping around with others, my time would be over. More fish out ther in the ocean who have values more in line with those I espouse.
